As the Israelites were entering the Promise Land after years of wandering in a dessert, Moses gave the people a strong reminder to obey God in the land of plenty. He asked them to remind their children of the commands of God each and every day, too. “Teach them [the commands of God] to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” Deuteronomy 10:19

In the desert, the Israelite men, women, and children needed God for everything. Yet, as they entered the Promise Land, Moses knew life was going to become easier, different. Moses challenged the men and women to continue in their dependence and obedience so they would receive the continued promises of abundance, provision, and protection. Moses also knew the coming generations would need to know God and His ways. How could this be best accomplished?

Moses, in wisdom, knew the primary place for teaching and discipleship was not in the synagogue or school. It was within the family structure. The people who spend the most time and have the most influence in a child’s life are parents. Moses knew the discipleship of a child must take place during ordinary acts of life together.

This holds true today as well. You are God’s best choice to disciple your children.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve been a believer for days or years. God wants YOU to share your faith and lead your family. You are the chosen vessel for leading your children to Christ. Yes, church family is vital and a community of believers coming along side your children is important. Yet, YOU are the one God will equip to disciple your children every day. You can be successful in discipling your children!

The Seeds Family Worship Team firmly believes God has given you, the parent, the privilege and ability to disciple your children. It’s our privilege to offer resources and materials both in our store and on our website to make discipleship less of a mystery and something you feel confident in achieving.

One of these resources is Seeds Bible Club. Bible Club is a weekly, free, online tool published during the school year. Each week we choose a song from one of our albums as the memory verse of the week, which you can stream from our website for free. We post the Bible verse to social media. Then, two Bible lessons – one for older and one for younger kids, simple activity ideas, and a printable memory card are made available. You can use them during the week with your children while you practice the song and memorize the selected scripture.

Below is a Bible Club from this past school year – all 33 weeks of this year’s Bible Club is available year round. We want you to use them as a resource for discipling your children. They make great discussion starters, family devotionals, summer Bible memorization tools, or a resource for a backyard Bible Club for your neighborhood. Use them this summer and then join us this fall for brand new Bible Clubs you and your family will enjoy!

This week we’re learning Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (from our Seeds of Courage CD)

*Talking about the Bible verse is a great way to start the memory process.  Simply sit down as a family and read the Bible verse and Bible Study together.  Feel free to tweak it to fit your family needs.

Bible lesson for Older Kids:

Paul the Apostle had once been Saul the Pharisee. A Pharisee zealous for God and yet completely against Jesus and those who followed Him. He went from house to house and city to city seeking out and destroying those who followed Jesus. He was convinced they were blaspheming the name of God and wanted them destroyed.

After a extraordinary encounter with Jesus on the way to Damascus, the one who sought to kill Christ’s followers became a leader of the church, the man who wrote a large portion of the New Testament, and the one who spread the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the known world. But, Paul’s encounter with Christ and his conversion were not without price. He was beaten, jailed, shipwrecked, hungry, cold, and betrayed.

This week’s verse was written by Paul to the church in Rome. It comes directly from his heart and life experience.

Nothing, nothing, anyone can think of or imagine can possibly separate you from the very amazing and deep love of God. Nothing!

God’s love is everywhere. It is consistent. It is everlasting. It is covenant. God will not withdraw His love from us.

This week, let’s celebrate God’s unbelievable love together as a family. Let’s spend several times of worship and prayer together thanking God for His love that doesn’t leave us and doesn’t end.

Bible lesson for Little Ones:

Have you ever taken a long trip in your car? This last Christmas our family took a really long car trip. We woke up really, really, really early in the morning while it was still dark and didn’t get to where we were going until really, really late at night.

Car trips are weird because you sit in the car all day and do normal activities while the car is taking you where you are going. You eat your lunch, play with toys, color in a coloring book, or watch a movie all while the trip is happening. Sometimes it feels like the car trip will never end.

God’s love is a lot like a car trip. We get up in the morning and we brush our teeth, go to school, talk with friends, eat our lunch, and come home all while God’s love is right there with us. His love goes with us to school, to church, to the playground, to our grandma’s house, and even to ballet! God’s love never ends and never goes away from us. It is right there all day long, every day.

This week, let’s celebrate God’s unbelievable love together as a family. Let’s spend several times of worship and prayer together thanking God for His love that doesn’t leave us and doesn’t end.
